Name: Legally – Tenzou, currently though, he’s operating as Yamato.

Age: 28

Sexual Preference: Women, though romantic entanglements are very low on his priority list.

Division: Ceno. Yamato is a dedicated, high ranking member of Arceos with a spotless reputation and so his official division lies with his other outstanding citizens. More than that though, Yamato spends a lot of time in Cena and sometimes Celo on covert missions, by not taking up residence in either of those divisions, his missions and identity are given an extra level of protection and the risk levels are lowered considerably.

Personality: On the surface, Yamato is a genial and easy-going man, laid-back and friendly. But don’t think that means you can take advantage of him. Under his human warmth is will and determination that would even make Madara blink. He is completely driven by one and only one purpose, complete his mission. How he does it is of little consequence to him. If he can get things done through his friendly façade that’s great, but if he can’t...well, his looks are stories used to terrorize new recruits for a reason. This duality is part of what allows him to maintain a respectable life in Ceno while also maintaining the respect of even the most hardened criminals of Cena, and has been essential to his success as an Arceos covert operative.

Over the years though, the nature and reality of his life has turned his mind into a vault of secrets, and seeing as his mantra is ‘complete the mission’, many of those secrets were actually kept to himself. He’s well learned in how discovering too much, can be just as destructive as too little. That, coupled with years of deep undercover work, has woven a deep layer of natural suspicion and paranoia under his skin. Mentally, he questions every thing and every one and is constantly absorbing, cataloguing and analyzing every glimmer of information he stumbles upon, even when he’s off duty. As he’s become extremely adept at reading facial and body language, these hints and puzzle pieces are a lot more evident than anyone would think. Through his constant analyzing, he became aware than his sincere mistrust in everything was becoming evident to his peers and has since endeavored to throw off the scent.

His ‘real’ self is now as much of a character as all his other selves, only more subtle and self-scripted. Over the past couple of years, he’s started dropping hints that his paranoia was based primarily in what could be seen as false threats, such as superstitions and old wives tales. So far, he has successfully transformed himself from ‘Potential Threat and Breach of Security Waiting to Happen’ to ‘Charmingly Eccentric but Mostly Harmless’ and feels safer that way.

Background: Yamato’s story starts like most in Curia, in an orphanage. That being the norm, Yamato never thought it odd that he didn’t have any parents and so never tried to pry into their lost stories. To this day, he might as well have just sprouted from the floorboards of his childhood home for all he knows about his biological family, and he really couldn’t care less. Their story is inconsequential to his.

He was a perfectly normal child, friendly and easy going as well as bright. While his cleverness certainly translated to books, Yamato’s intelligence was mostly apparent in social spheres and common sense.

He was headhunted at an early age by the military, where he was enrolled in Arma general training while the educators prodded at his talents. After graduating from the juvenile stage of the academy, Yamato was moved into the Arceos academy and his real training began.

With an easy-going nature masking a spine of tempered steel, a warm smile that distracted from keen eyes and a brain that rivalled the most intricate computers as well as possessed a predilection for quick thinking, it was no surprise that grooming was started for what would become an illustrious career in the Intelligence department. While he was never one to brag, Yamato quickly climbed to the top of all of his classes, breaking several academy records along the way which he holds to this day.

After eventually graduating when he was seventeen, Yamato was more than happy to join the ranks. After all, this was the world as he knew it and following the path that had been so kindly paved for him was easy. Plus, it wasn’t like he didn’t find the job satisfying.

Yamato’s true military career started in community surveillance, and many days he was wasted on watching the district borders. Once it became clear how keen his eye was though (he is credited as being the root alarm of many successful submission efforts and arrests), he was moved to operative surveillance. This was something that Yamato found a little more interesting. Now, he was playing invisible bodyguard not for the faceless mass of the peaceful populace, but for an individual, one man or woman who had been putting their life on the line every day for who knew how long to protect Curia. This was above and beyond the front line that the Arma was indoctrinated to believe they were fighting on. This was deep in enemy territory, the steady eroding of tendons in the sleeping giant that was Cena. This was proactive rather than reactive. But most importantly, this was challenging. It was in those long hours, eyes glued to his screen, headphones pressed tightly to his ears that Yamato finally decided that he wanted to start doing some of his own paving when it came to his career path.

His transfer application took no time at all to be accepted, but the training was rigorous and merciless. Still though, Yamato excelled more than ever. As he had no real past of his own, it was easy for him to slip into the skins of the fictions his peers concocted for him. His personality seemed to be just the right mix of soft and hard for him to be completely convincing and slide easily through the cracked underbelly of his city. But most importantly, Yamato discovered a new talent that saved his life more than anything else.

He was invisible. There was something in his makeup and demeanor that made him impossible to accurately describe or remember and therefore made him completely anonymous. He was one of the few agents that could return to the field in a completely new mask almost immediately. And he was the only one who could do it with the highest success rate the Intelligence Department ever recorded.

In these modern times, with insurrection whispering through the red alleys of Cena and with populations in the White and Red district swelling to worrisome proportions, Yamato feels his work is more important than ever. While he’s seen and done far too much to actually believe the city is as pure as it likes to pretend, his loyalty remains with the safety of the people who can’t defend themselves, and as such within the structure designed to protect them.
